Hi, I'm Karen
I would like to enable local businesses, however small, to have a platform and virtual shop window to promote themselves to their local community.
I’ve worked in the charity sector for 13 years but before that I was a school governor, singing teacher, ran a PTFA and worked for Barclays for 19 years.
I love organising, supporting and promoting “local” and I hope that the Thanet Virtual High Street will help our communities to “Bounce Back”.
I originally decided to create a Facebook Virtual Group because a lot of my friends and family with small businesses had been massively affected this year and I hoped this new platform would enable them to shout about all the fantastic, amazing things they do.
I know a lot of people already dabble in promoting on social media but I thought by joining like minded local businesses together, who could appreciate each other, even if they do the same thing, it would create a new culture of complimenting each other, using each other and thanking each other. It might sound cliché but I really do think we can help each other to “Bounce Back!”.
The Facebook group now has over 7800 members taking part, so this website is the next stage to creating our very own Thanet Virtual High Street.
If you would like to showcase your products or services do get in touch with me to see how this website could help your business.
There is a small administration fee to be listed within the directory of £25 per annum. All members of the “Thanet Virtual High Street” Facebook group will be signposted to this website for local business contact details.
